Vigée Le Brun's entry piece to the Academie Royale de Peinture at de Sculpture.
Displayed at the Salon after her admittance in 1783. One of 15 salon style
allegories mentioned in souvenirs. Vigée Le Brun completed two pastel head studies for this painting. One for "Peace" (Art Page 14)and one for "Abundance" (Art Page 199). Reference Kimbell Exhibition Catalog Number 9 for more details. This portrait was displayed in the 2015 Paris Exhibition.

Mademoiselle Brongniart - 1788

Alexandrine-Emilie (1780-1847) was the daughter of the architect
Alexandre-Theodore Brongniart. Brogniart was a friend of Vigee Le Brun who
briefly took refuge in his Paris house during the turbulent autumn of 1789.
She was married to Louis-André, Baron Pichon.
View a detail of this image. The painting was passed to a son of the sitter, Jérôme Pichon (1812-1896); bequeathed by Sir Bernard Eckstein, 1948. Vigee Le
Brun also painted Brongniart's other
daughter.
