"Mme Saint-Huberty not only possessed a superb voice but was also a truly

separated in 1781, and in 1790 she married comte de Launay d'Entraignes. From The Musical Times, Vol 46: "Saint-Huberty, known as Anne Antoinette Cécile Clavel (1756-1812) was a distinguised opera sinber who appeared as lead soprano in many successful Paris operas. She is best known for the Paris premiers of Gluck's "Armide" on 23 Sept 1777 and Piccinni's "Didon" on 16 October 1783, both before Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. She came to London in 1812 with her husband comte de Launay d'Entraignes. He and his wife were both assassinated by one of their servants on 22 July 1812, for, it is supposed political reasons."
