La duchesse de Guiche - 1794

Vigee le Brun painted La duchesse de Guiche in 1794 according to her memoirs. For that year Vigee le Brun listed, 1 Duchess de Guiche wearing a blue turban, half-length. Vigee le Brun wrote: "I met the Duchesse de Guiche,
whose delightful face had not changed" - Chap. XII. We have another portrait of the duchess on page 97. Both are thought to be authentic . One may be a copy after the other.

Pelagia-Roza Potocka (1775-1846) first married to Prince Franz Sapieha-Siewierski (1772-1829), then married to Prince Paul Sapieha-Kodenski (1781-1846).

Duchess De Polignac - 1787

The pastel is in the collection of the Gramont's (presumably passed down through her daughter the duchess de guiche.) The caption states that it is the profile of the duchess de Polignac. The book is Les Gramont Portraits de famille.
