Marfino - 1795-1801
oil on canvas, oval
Count Alexey Grigorievich Orlov-Tchesmensky (1734-1808). Marfino might be in reference to the Marfino Palace which was at some point owned by the son (Count Grigory Vladimirovich 1777-1826) of his youngest brother Count Vladimir Grigorievich (1743-1831). In 1801 Vigee Le Brun painted Count Grigory's wife Countess Anna Ivanovna nee Soltykov. View another image of this painting.
